I chose to become a therapist because of my own lived experience growing up in a religious cult. Healing from my own trauma was one of the most transformational journeys I’ve ever undertaken and one that continues today. The more I healed, the more my awareness of the hurt of the world grew. Trauma disconnects us from ourselves, and healing reconnects us to who we truly are. I knew I wanted to have the skills to help others discover the beauty of true connection to self. My approach is compassionate and direct. I want to help you clear trauma so that you can learn the skills to live the life you’ve always wanted.

I climb to the top of Knox Mountain six days a week, and it brings me incredible joy!
Going to bed early
Not procrastinating
-
I didn’t discover therapy until I was 40 years old, and the relief I experienced through working with a very wise counsellor who helped me untangle my life was transformational. I wanted to be able to help others become a cycle breaker just as she helped me.
-
I am ridiculously proud of my six beautiful children and the people they have become. I’m proud of myself for going on to get a Master’s degree while raising them.
-
I wanted to be a nurse
-
I’m spending time with my children, on the lake with my paddleboard, and climbing Knox Mountain. I enjoy travelling, studying, taking walks, hiking, being in nature, and visiting with my extended family.

Coming to counselling doesn’t mean you’re broken. It means you’re choosing to find your true capacity so that you can live the life you want.
-
I love building therapeutic relationships and watching the lights come on in people’s eyes. I love watching rough edges soften as clients experience what it is like to have space held for them so they can tune into their own inner world.
-
A real, relatable human, a safe place to bring all of who I am

I love the poem
“Wild Geese” by Mary Oliver:
"You do not have to be good.
You do not have to walk on your knees
For a hundred miles through the desert, repenting.
You only have to let the soft animal of your body
love what it loves.
Tell me about despair, yours, and I will tell you mine.
Meanwhile the world goes on.
Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain
are moving across the landscapes,
over the prairies and the deep trees,
the mountains and the rivers.
Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air,
are heading home again.
Whoever you are, no matter how lonely,
the world offers itself to your imagination,
calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting --
over and over announcing your place
in the family of things.
